The girl who rains

This week's Creative Tuesdays' theme is 'aqua.' I guess it's easy to tell what aqua is in this piece.  For more of this week's Creative Tuesdays' participants, go here

  2. Wow, what a really wonderful piece. So very interesting and very refreshing too. I'm trying to figure out what hse is holding? Is that some sort of water creature or part of her translucent dress or what? Anyway, I love it. Another amazing piece from you and that hair is so wonderful too. Thank you for taking the time to do this, Lissa. So glad I saw it as I just decided to pop by even though (at the time) you had yet to sing up. I was hoping I might find some gem like this here. :) Thank you again.

    1. I guess it isn't as clear but she is trying to keep the rain from falling which I guess is a useless task. I guess I have used too many layers and the result is more various shading here and there.

to be honest, I'm not happy with raindrops and I think I should have added more, perhaps on the edge of her fingers to show how they are spilling out? I don't know. but I do know I'll be working on this again. someday. maybe next week or next year.

thanks for stopping by. have a lovely day.

p.s. I'm still not getting emails whenever you commented but I do check my comments so no biggie.

  4. Lissa, this is a very beautiful. I was telling Michael just how prolific your artwork is...powerful, moving and utterly beautiful to the soul. I know you think at times your art could be better, done differently, etc - just as I tell Michael....stop being so hard on yourself. Your illustrations are amazing, touching hearts around the world! :)

  5. Lissa, such a beautiful and tranquil piece. To me it looks as if she is nurturing a transparent shell, keeping it safe. Your paintings are always beautiful and I agree with Alexandra, you should not be so hard on yourself.

    1. I guess I'm not use to compliments and I do have a bad habit to overthink and not very certain when a piece is good, I guess I need to try not to do that. thank you. it's very sweet of you.

      have a lovely day.

    1. I really like braids and often draw them. I was going for a red-auburn hair color but decided a dark blue/green is better.

thanks for your visit, have a lovely day.
