Penelope in Orange & Mint

This week's Creative Tuesdays' theme is 'orange.' I guess I should add 'yellow' in the title but it doesn't sound as good. This piece is half based on the movie, 'Penelope'. On my screen the orange is more of a pinkish orange but it's orange.

For some reason, my images are no longer clear, so, click on the image for a larger view.

    1. I've done the eyes the same way, nothing special but I guess the extra spark makes it more vivid.

thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day.

    1. now that I see them again, I think they are too close, perhaps too large for her face but I like them just the same.

    2. Lissa, you are way too critical on yourself! I get that, I do it too with myself!

Those eyes pop right out at you. And I love the movement of the scarf.

    1. that's my favorite about his piece, I love scarves and probably would put one on every person I draw but it's not practical.

  4. Liisa, again you did a wonderful job. Even the hair has an orange tinge to it. And the scarf with the orange bits looks orange on my screen. And I love the flashes of light. Love it. :-)

    1. that was accidental, I was going for more of a brown with some highlights but this looks good with the redish shade.

  6. Lissa, what a marvelous piece! Love it. While I;ve not seen the movie this is loosely based off of the vines intertwining as they are, even aroudn the dainty little daisy buttons implies something magical is going on here. Love the use of colours here. It's kind of funny as before I even saw this, I had an idea for the next them which woudl have fit well for this piece too. You'll see. thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Beautiful indeed.

Oh! BTw, I wanted to say, I ADORE your new masthead illustration. Perfect in every way. I want to screen capture it for memory in case you sure enough change it down the road !:)

    1. you are too kind. in the movie there is a mention of vines but that doesn't really play a part in the movie which is just too bad, really.

the header illustration will stay for a while as I do like it more than any others that I've done. & I will be posting the full illustration sometimes soon.

      have a lovely day.

    1. if you know the movie, you would know why but I like to think of this as separate from the movie so there could a number of reasons for the scraf, it's a good mystery.

thanks for your visit. have a lovely day.

    1. the scarf is my favorite part. now that I think about it, I am reminded of Harry Potter. I was actually going to do a bright orange with a dark yellow but I really like the pinkish orange.

thanks for your visit. have a lovely day.
