Daughter of the world

'daughter of the world'

I don't know what to post anymore. It's only been a week since I last posted here and yet, it feels more like a month. Does anyone else feels like there's always too much time in between posts when it's really not true? I suppose that's the downfall of knowing time and having it remind you of its existence so often.

Has this blog become an art blog? I seem to be posting only drawings. It's not that I have nothing else, it's just that, I seem not to like anything else. Also, I'm on hiatus from photo taking so there are no new photos. But I'm still writing stories though nothing I wish to show.

I guess it doesn't matter what I post or when I post as long as I like doing it. I just read that you should only blog what you are passionate about so that blogging is not work, so that you can enjoy blogging without feeling like you're being forced to do it. But that's just an advice you can follow or not. As for me, I really don't know. I just post whatever I have to offer and these days, what I have to offer is a drawing or two. So enjoy the above drawing.

    1. yes, I think this piece a slightly different, I guess it's not as colorful and not as neat, the colors not as precise.

  2. I like the imagery. Your art always touches me in some way. I sometimes feel I should take a long break from blogging. I get stale but changing seasons help me.

  3. I definitely love to see your art! And to read your stories. And to see your pictures. And to read what you have to say. No matter how often that is. Enjoy your Sunday! <3

  5. VERy interesting illustration here, Liisa. I wish you had explained it more. She is abouto travel or has been traveling? She is bald because....? and so on. Well done anyway.

Yes, yes, yes, I TOTALLY get what you are writing here. It is so true. I feel the exact same way. I find my blog becoming more of an art blog and taking too long t write in between, let alone take photos, but, like you, I only want to post when feeling a certain connection to it, or passionate about it, if you will--Something too that I feel others will enjoy writing. I mean I could write on politics, or religion or what have you but that will so often divide as much as it might rally some together too.

So, you are heard here. I have to say, I love your photography as much as your illustrations, well almost perhaps as I really love your art work but they are both so good. I'm jsut glad you haven't quit for a longer repose. Keep it up, even if only weekly or even monthly. Those who truly care about you will find you and follow along. :)

    1. well, I guess she's an angel, just sort of traveling the world in her hand, I suppose. there was no concept behind it, nor do I know why she is bald but I think I am too attached to hair and so she's bald & I just draw it that way.

& yes, we should all post when we really want or else, it's pointless but that's my idea about blogging, other people, I do not know, I only know what I like and what I like is to just post whatever there is.

I mean to take up photo taken again sometimes in the future, it's totally out of the question but sometimes you do have to take a break from certain habits and perhaps it will be more enjoyable when I pick it up again.

anyway, thanks for your visit. have a lovely day.

  6. Although you feel you don't really know what this piece is about or what it represents, I do believe underneath it all, it speaks to how you feel at this particular moment in your life. To me, it's a simple and perfect representation of what you have just written - and it also sounds like you're struggling with where to "fit in" here in the blog world...and maybe even life as a whole. I think it says alot that you left this beautiful angel without hair (trying to be different...again finding what you feel is "missing" at the moment) - all of what you're feeling is OK and makes sense. I believe everyone goes through phases with their blogs, almost like a fork in the road, knowing it's maybe time to take a different direction with things but not sure how to. You're one incredibly talented person, Lissa, with a great big heart for others. I've known you for awhile and you are definitely a giver to others. You are wonderful and wish you the best in discovering where you want/hope to go with your blog. Personal advice? Don't push it...just let what comes....come. You're discover the passion and joy behind your blog soon enough. Sending you lots of hugs. :)

    1. perhaps you are right, I do feel a lacking of something these days, I can't really say what that is, I suppose I've been doing little things to make up for it. well, I guess I will see how things go.

when I did this piece, I was not a very good mood & I read the news and there were a lot of awful things that had happened, I suppose it might have something to do with how somber it is and I did tone down the colors for this piece. as sarah said in her comment, this is a not my usualy style. I think I should stop reading the news too often, you know there are just too many bad news and not enough good ones to offset it.

anyway, thank you for stopping by, hope you have a lovely day.

  7. I love what Alex wrote here. Glad I caught it and also your follow up comments. Yes, i know waht you mean about the world news but I don't like to be caught off guard and loving history, love to connect the dots on what might next happen, judging from previous times in history. It is such a fascinating, sometimes scary, time to be alive.
